Up 'n' at 'em

Dad called me today while I was out fishing after work. He is up and walking and sounding like he always has. He said he had walked a long ways and his legs didn't hurt whereas a week ago he wouldn't have even been able to come close. He said his scars are pretty big. Right down from his sternum, around the "boys" and down the front of his legs. He's off the intravenous and on pill painkillers. Nice work Willie!! He stopped smoking a while back and he's been sober for as long as the surgery...your guess is as good as mine as to whether or not he smartens up. I don't think he'll go back on the smokes, but the beer...I think that's pushing it. I'm looking foreword to visiting him without having to endure the heavy nicotine fog.

Went fishing\canoeing with Mary on Saturday morning on Fuller Lake. Fuller Lake is on the south side of Chemainus (the place with all the murals). No luck on the fish but it was a beautiful day to be trying. Mary worked on Sunday at 1 so I took the belly boat out to a lake I'd never fished called Green Lake. I got 2 on Sunday and then went back after work today and got 3. They are all small but fun to catch. I will take Mary there with the canoe next chance we get. Mary has been working a lot lately so we haven’t been able to spend a lot of time together but, hey, any time with Mary is quality time.

Austin is on his way home from his dad’s and then we’ll pick Mary up at 9:00.

He's Okay

Dad had his surgery at 11:30 yesterday. He made it through just fine and is recovering in ICU. Mary(my dad's Mary) called me at 5:30 with the news. He'll be in bed for 2 days before they start getting him mobile.

GOOD LUCK DAD

I want you all to send a few good vibes up to Kelowna tomorrow morning for me. My dad is going in for a long awaited and many times postponed bypass surgery. I think it's been about 30 years since he last saw a doctor so I'd imagine he's pretty freaked out. I talked to him tonight before he went to bed. He'll leave at 4am to be at the hospital in Kelowna by 6. Surgery is at 7 or 8. They expect he'll be in hospital for 6 days and in ICU for 48 hours. Good Luck Willie J Lynch

Matt.....you owe me

No go on the Matt Good show tomorrow night. I got a call from the Port Theater ,where the concert was to take place, at about 4:30. Oh well, I still have a day off and so does Mary.

long weekend ressurection

The long weekend was nice though not incredibly long for me. I worked a half-day on Friday and until 3 yesterday. I am taking Wednesday though. Wednesday is Matt Good. Mary had to take it off so I did too. We haven't had a full day together for quite a while. The last few weeks have been BUSY especially for Mary. They lost 3 girls at the restaurant all at basically the same time. One is a friend that is going in for knee surgery today and won't be returning and the other is also a friend but her problem is drugs. Mary took the call yesterday from her and had to tell her that she's not on the schedule anymore.

We had Austin on Sunday for Easter so on Saturday night we hid eggs for him as if he were 5. It was fun for us alright!! Mary told Austin that he had to go to bed, so we could hide eggs ,but he didn't really want to. "Jesus can't be resurrected unless you're asleep, " she told him. There are still chocolate eggs in nooks and crannies around the house. The Easter Bunny came for me also. He brought fishing magazines, cd cases and Fruit n Nut chocolate.
Austin and I went fishing for a few minutes in between hail storms yesterday. We went last week too. No luck. I'm used to fly fishing for trout. I have to figure out this bobber and worm thing.

Today should be interesting at work. 3 guys are getting "talked to" by the boss. I was in yesterday and he was telling me what's up. He assured me that I am safe. He says everyone likes me there and not to worry. He said he’d keep me busy even if the paint end slows down (which I don’t see happening) . My partner in paint there though is a different story. He was sick for 2 days last week and then didn't even call the rest of the week. He just shows up when he wants to and when he does, he arrives like he owns the joint. He drinks on the job.He figures if it's after 5 he cand drink. It's not sitting well with anyone. The boss' wife can't stand him so we'll see what happens.

MATT GOOD

I received my tickets for the Acoustic Solo Matthew Good show on the 19th. It's so nice that he's coming to Nanaimo. Not that I don't love to visit Victoria but on a Wednesday it is impossible for me to make the trip. I grabbed 4 tickets before they sold out so Mary, Kori, Lori, Rich get to go!! I think I'll try to get the whole day off on Wednesday.

Work is going well. We painted the second helicopter since I started. We painted it last week. So many parts to go together still so I'll post a picture when it is done. I saw an accountant yesterday about what I'm supposed to be doing with my income taxes. I am a sub-contractor for Aero=Smith therefore have to do my own paper work. I needed a ball park percentage to stash away so I don't get screwed come tax time next year. He figures 20% is a good number. Plus he gave me the list of things I can write off.

In My Version...........

In my version of the bible, Jesus, not Toni, sees Angela naked in the shower. In my version of the bible Jesus saves The Smurfs from being turned into gold by Gargamel. In my version of the bible, Jesus teaches Bea Arthur what it’s like to be an old Sicilian woman. In my version of the bible, Moses comes out of a coma only to tell Jesus that he is actually in love with his twin brother Marc Anthony. In my version of the bible, Adam draws a bow, shoots an apple off his son’s head which directly lands on Sir Isaac Newton who because of these turn of events makes one hell of a cookie. In my version of the bible, when the floods came, they used the excess stomach of Starr Jones as a life raft. In my version of the Bible, Clinton inhales. In my version of the bible, Stella looses her groove only to realize I have crammed it back up her ass for her. In my version of the bible, God is too legit, too legit to quit. In my version of the bible, Andy Garcia is the devil and he rides around hell in a gold plated wheelbarrow pulled by a team of Polynesian hookers. In my version of the bible, Jesus is the Un-cola. In my version of the bible, Jeff Foxworthy has complete social and political control over all those inbreds who love him so damn much. In my version of the bible, Trix are for prostitutes. In my version of the bible, God has something stuck in his teeth and he’s totally oblivious to it but it’s really hard to take him seriously when he looks like that. In my version of the bible, heaven is a place where men and goats can love one another free of public scrutiny. In my version of the bible, Jesus gets a criminal record for public intoxication and jumping on a Mardi gras float. In my version of the bible, Charlton Hesston finally gets his human heart. In my version of the bible, anyone who refers to Wednesday as ‘Humpday’ is instantly sodomized. In my version of the bible, people recognize the difference between Miracle Whip and mayonnaise. My version of the bible is written and illustrated by child author Judy Blume.
