Getting the Canoe
Mary got to go see the infamous Powell River this weekend.I had bought a canoe a few weeks ago from a friend, Ken, who used to live in PR but now lives in Kelowna.I worked with Ken in PR at Pinetree Autobody as did I with Jeff (the guy in the pictures with the dogs and the shop), and Bert(the hairy guy with the corona).
It was a beautiful day when we arived so I figured rather than strapping the canoe to the roof so soon, we'd take a tour of the old stomping grounds. There really wasn't much to see, nothing different anyhow. I showed Mary a few of the places I lived around town after we stopped in for coffee with Bert.Oh then we went to La Casita for the best Mexican food known to man. Then I showed Mary Mowatt Bay on Powell Lake,my old place on Cranberry Lake, and then we headed up the dirt road to see Duck Lake.I spent many hours fishing on Duck Lake, it was good to see it.
We then decided we'd better head down to Cranberry Lake again where Ken's parents lived and where he had left the canoe for me to pick up. Then we went back to Bert's place for a beer and then headed out the highway to see Jeff. It was a beautiful night as you can see from the sunset picture. After Jeff's we got back on the boat and came home.
