HOSPITAL TIME
On Saturday, the day after our Gabriola trip, I ended up in the hospital with internal bleeding. This has happened before 3 times so I am sort of used to it but it doesn't make it any less frustrating or scary. I went in Saturday morning at about 10am and stayed in Emergency until around 6pm when the doc made the call to admit me. This was the same Gastrointestinal doctor that I saw 2 times previously so he knew my case right away. They have never found out what the cause of the bleeding was (is) and still haven't which adds to the frustration. I was released on Sunday afternoon since my hemoglobin had only dropped slightly and I didn't appear o be high risk anymore. So since I wasn't in hospital I thought I'd better go to work on Tuesday after a day of rest, BAD IDEA!! I felt pretty bad yesterday and slept restlessly last night. When my body is low on blood I can hear my heart beat whooshing so loudly in my ears and it drives me nuts. So I stayed home today and I feel much better. The whooshing has stopped but the blood hasn't gone yet. I am pretty sure it is old blood working it's way out of my body but I am not positive. I can only go by how I feel which is ...better. I'm taking the rest of the week off to recover or more days if necessary. Like I say, We don't know what caused the bleeding this time but I am going to watch my diet much closer and stop with the everyday beers. I knew I better slow down when while I was in the hospital I was on clear fluids and jello strictly and everyone’s comment was," Corona IS a clear fluid".
Thanks for the support everyone. Lori had to be updated via my mom because she was really sick with the flu but I know she was with me. Justin and Amanda came on Sunday with wicked reading material and support. Mom came to see me with Mary on Sunday morning with support and that” here we go again eh Kor, hang in there" look in her eyes. Thanks Mary for taking the time to be by my side every second she possibly could. Being with you there made it bearable. It has been really hard on Mary to see me go through this and especially to have to leave my bedside at the hospital. I must say it was very saddening to see her have to go. The hospital is a lonely place to be in the night and visiting hours are from 11am to 8pm. 11.......are you kidding me. That was torture. The rest of the family has seen it all too many times but I'm sure it doesn't get much easier. I am sorry that you all have to watch me suffer. I can't even imagine what it would be like to see any of you in my position. I will update tomorrow.
