LONG WEEKEND PHOTOS

On the Ferry

Tunnels on the Canyon Highway. When we were kids we made my dad honk obsessively when passing through these tunnels , so I did the same.

This is actually closer to Kamloops. That's the Thompson River.

Mary lives on this property when Pregnant with Austin. All these places are in spitting distance of the highway.

Ol Man Austin loves his rocker

The fellow that has taken over the property and his dogs

Mary lived in the cabin on the far right

Not much of a place any more

Here Mary demonstrates where and how she used the washroom. There was a can at the big house but sometimes that's too damn far away so they hung it out off the back porch

This cemetary was cool. Mary used to walk around in her bare feet in there because the moss that grows inside felt good on her feet. Bare foot n pregnant. Almost all the people that rest there are infants or people with the last name Chapman. The guy that owns it now had just made the sign that said welcome to Chapman. It is a tiny historical district.

Looking down from the Alexandra bridge to the Fraser River. This was once part of Highway 1

Mary used to walk accross that bridge from her cabin to go to work at the Spuzzum Cafe.

The trail you walk on to get to Alexandra bridge is the old Highway. My dad used to run trucks on this highway when it was still dirt.

There is a huge gondola here at Hell's Gate that goes accross the Fraser River.

Austin on the suspension cables that hold up Alexandra bridge

This was the first wildlife we saw on the dirt road out of Boston Bar that took us to the camp site on the Nahatlatch River

Now I got your hat and your glasses, what you gonna do about that LYNCH, huh

"That there peice of wood killed my baby"
Mary screamed that as I threw rocks at that dead snag.

One happy camper

Austin and I found this old can while looking for fire wood

This is just on picture from the live birthing reenactment that Austin provided

The Nahatlatch was RIGHT beside our campsite

We got soaked in the middle of the night. We packed up fast and threw it all in the truck and went into Boston Bar for breakfast.

In Falkland

The town of Falkland

Dad and Mary

Uncle Kori and Ryder.

Some crazy bush kid that showed up to cut firewood

My Pappy

This is about 7:30 am. Austin and I made a bet the night before that he lost (I can't remember what for) but Mary had a good idea. If Austin put on the lady bug ear muffs and the green slipper, ran out to the field and chased the cattle....we'd call it even. So that's what he did. We should have made him do it naked.

In LOVE

This is the house I lived in when I was born.

RODEO time. It wasn't a big hit with Mary and Austin. I don't care much for the calf ropeing myself.

Find the fox. It's hard to see but he's there. Click on the pic to enlarge. We saw the fox on a small bridge coming back from petting that horse.

This is what you get for sitting on a wild horse....A FACE FULL OF DIRT!!

Austin won this purple stuffie at a dart game and gave it to Ryder who immediately stuffed it in his mouth.

The winners of the horse pull. My dad used to always be a contestant in the pull but was only able to line judge this year. That's him on the far left. Looks good for recovering from major bypass surgery. He put on a few clicks following that boat back and forth all morning.
